Fleurian Filkins (they/them) joined Feeding America in February 2022 as a Bill Emerson Hunger Fellow from the 28th class. In August 2022, they joined the Government Relations team full-time as a Policy Specialist. Fleurian has a background in social science research, data analysis, and grassroots policy advocacy. In 2021, they graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a B.A. in Psychology. Prior to joining Feeding America, Fleurian was a fellow at the DC Office of Planning’s Food Policy Division, where they conducted qualitative research on the causes and potential solutions to senior food insecurity in DC. Currently, they support Feeding America’s policy priorities through data dissemination, analyses, and visualizations.
